W.Robert Kohorst, the American ambassador in Croatia visited our group’s office in Zagreb last week! There were many topics discussed with the company founders and management team – everything from current projects to future development plans.
The ambassador, who also comes from the business world, has shown an interest in the field of big data analytics, which today when data has taken the title of a most valuable resource, is an extremely perspective area. The conversation also focused on the presence of Poslovna inteligencija at the US market through various projects and partners, and Ambassador Kohorst was interested in the topic of direct business development in the US market.
Ambassador Kohorst was surprised by the fact that Poslovna inteligencija is one of the few IT companies that has been implementing gender equality policy for years and that we employ 50% of women, while the three-member Board consists of two women. Considering that the position of women in IT is a topic that is extremely important to us, we are very proud that Anita Cvetić Oreščanin, one of the two women Board members, will soon participate in the IVLP (International Visitor Leadership Program) program entitled “Empowering Women Leaders in STEM ” which is funded by the US Government.
There was also a word about two topics extremely relevant to the Croatian IT industry in relation to the United States – double taxation agreement between the US and Croatia and the visa regime.
At the end of the conversation, we touched on the topic of data privacy, which is very present in Europe, as well as the rest of the world, and Ambassador Kohorst was introduced to our data privacy management solution, Data Privacy Manager.
